About the Journal
Policies
The Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Dosen Indonesia (JP2DI) adheres to a comprehensive set of policies designed to ensure the integrity, reliability, and quality of its scholarly publications. These policies are aligned with the standards of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbud), as well as international databases such as DOAJ and Scopus. The journal is committed to maintaining transparency in its editorial and peer-review processes, safeguarding academic freedom, and upholding the highest ethical standards in publishing. It emphasizes compliance with the policies on publication ethics, intellectual property rights, and proper attribution in academic research. JP2DI also ensures that its content is openly accessible, promoting the dissemination of knowledge for the advancement of both academic and practical applications in Indonesia and beyond. The policies of JP2DI encompass a commitment to non-discrimination, promoting a diverse range of authors and research topics while maintaining strict guidelines for academic rigor and ethical conduct.
Peer Review Process
The peer review process is fundamental to ensuring the quality and credibility of the articles published in JP2DI. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process where both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other. This ensures an unbiased and objective evaluation of the manuscript. Upon submission, the article is first reviewed by the editorial team to check for suitability, formatting, and adherence to the journal’s scope. If deemed appropriate, it is then sent to at least two independent reviewers, who are experts in the field of the submitted research. The reviewers evaluate the article based on its originality, clarity, methodology, research impact, and adherence to ethical standards. After review, authors are notified of the decision, which could be acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection. In cases of revisions, the authors are given the opportunity to address reviewers' comments and resubmit the manuscript for further consideration. This rigorous peer review process upholds the academic standards of the journal and ensures the publication of high-quality, credible research.
Publication Ethics
JP2DI upholds strong publication ethics to maintain the integrity and credibility of academic research. The journal follows the ethical guidelines set by DOAJ, SINTA, and Scopus, ensuring the proper conduct of authors, reviewers, and editors. Authors are required to submit original work that is not under review or published elsewhere, and any data or results must be accurately reported. In the case of research involving human subjects or animals, authors must adhere to ethical standards and obtain necessary approvals. The journal also prioritizes conflict of interest disclosure, where authors must declare any financial or personal relationships that may have influenced their research. Reviewers must provide impartial, constructive feedback and disclose any conflicts of interest. Editors are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the review and publication process and must make decisions based on the quality of the research, free from personal biases. Any cases of research misconduct, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, or falsification of data, will lead to the retraction of the article, and authors will be held accountable.
Open Access Policy
The open access policy of JP2DI is designed to maximize the dissemination of research findings by making all articles freely available to the public. The journal follows a Gold Open Access model, ensuring that articles are accessible without any subscription or paywall. By embracing open access, JP2DI ensures that research is freely available to a global audience, thus facilitating the advancement of knowledge, supporting the academic community, and promoting the visibility of Indonesian research. All published content can be freely downloaded, shared, and reused under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). Authors retain copyright of their works and can use their articles in future works while ensuring proper attribution to JP2DI. This open access policy reflects the journal's commitment to fostering knowledge exchange and supporting academic collaboration both within Indonesia and globally.
Publication Frequency
JP2DI is published quarterly, with four issues released each year. Each issue typically includes a variety of articles that focus on research and community service contributions from Indonesian faculty members, reflecting the diverse areas of study and practice across the country. The publication frequency allows for timely dissemination of current research, ensuring that the journal remains relevant and responsive to emerging trends in academia and societal needs. The editorial team aims to maintain a consistent release schedule, ensuring authors and readers have predictable access to new content. The journal’s quarterly publication also provides ample opportunity for in-depth peer review, revisions, and editorial preparation, ensuring high standards of scholarly rigor are met. This publication frequency aligns with international academic norms while catering to the dynamic field of community-based research and service in Indonesia.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
To maintain its high standards of publication and to support the open access model, JP2DI charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) to authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication. This fee covers the costs of the editorial process, peer review, typesetting, and long-term archiving, as well as the journal’s efforts to maintain its open access status. The APC is set to be affordable, keeping in mind the financial constraints of authors in Indonesia, particularly those from academic institutions or community-based organizations. The APC amount is transparently listed on the journal's website and is payable only upon acceptance of the manuscript after the peer review process. Authors from low-income countries may be eligible for fee waivers or reductions based on their financial situation or institutional support. This model ensures that JP2DI can continue to provide high-quality, accessible research while sustaining its operational costs.
Author Guidelines
JP2DI provides clear and comprehensive author guidelines to help authors prepare and submit their manuscripts correctly. These guidelines are available on the journal’s website and include detailed instructions on formatting, referencing styles, manuscript structure, and submission procedures. Authors are advised to prepare their manuscripts according to the journal’s standards, which include sections such as an abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion. The manuscript should follow the journal’s preferred citation style, which is consistent with international academic norms. Additionally, authors are required to submit a cover letter along with the manuscript, which should include a statement confirming the originality of the work and compliance with ethical guidelines. Submissions must be made through the online submission system, which allows authors to track their manuscript’s progress through the editorial process. The guidelines also outline the responsibilities of authors regarding the disclosure of conflicts of interest, ethical approval for research, and the need for accurate data reporting.
Online Submission
JP2DI uses an online submission system to streamline the manuscript submission process and improve efficiency. Authors are required to submit their articles electronically through the journal's submission portal, which can be accessed via the official website. The online submission system allows authors to upload their manuscripts, track their submission status, and communicate directly with the editorial team. The system is designed to ensure a smooth submission process, with built-in checks for compliance with submission guidelines and formatting requirements. Authors are also able to submit supplementary files, such as figures, tables, and appendices, alongside the main manuscript. After submission, the manuscript undergoes an initial editorial review, followed by the peer review process, with updates provided to the authors throughout the process. This system ensures transparency, reduces delays, and supports the journal's commitment to maintaining a timely and organized publication process.
Plagiarism
JP2DI maintains a strict anti-plagiarism policy to ensure the originality and academic integrity of the research it publishes. All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism checks using advanced software to detect any instances of copied text or improperly cited content. Authors are expected to submit original works, with proper citations for all referenced materials. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, duplicate publications, or falsification of data, will result in the rejection of the manuscript and may lead to retraction if the article has already been published. The journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines in handling plagiarism cases and ensures that authors, reviewers, and editors are aware of the importance of academic honesty. By maintaining a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, JP2DI upholds its reputation as a reputable academic journal committed to the highest standards of scholarly publishing.
Copyright Notice
All articles published in JP2DI are protected by copyright. Authors retain the copyright to their individual works while granting JP2DI the right to publish and distribute the article under an open-access license. The journal follows the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows others to share, distribute, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as proper attribution is given to the original author and JP2DI. This licensing arrangement ensures that research is freely accessible while protecting the rights of the authors.
