Aims and Scope

The Journal of Islamic Law (JIL) aims to provide a scholarly platform for critical discussions and innovative research on Islamic law in both classical and contemporary contexts. The journal seeks to:

  • Examine the sources, principles, and methodologies of Islamic jurisprudence (usul al-fiqh).

  • Explore the application of Islamic law in diverse legal, social, and political systems.

  • Analyze current issues related to Islamic family law, criminal law, financial law, and constitutional matters.

  • Compare Islamic legal traditions with other legal systems.

  • Promote interdisciplinary research that links Islamic law with education, human rights, gender studies, ethics, and globalization.

Biannually (Twice a year: June and December)


Language

Manuscripts are accepted in English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia. Abstracts must be submitted in English.
